This enables you to add or remove columns from the data table in your report. You can add a column by clicking the \u2018Add\u2019 button and remove a column by clicking it in the list to highlight it and clicking the \u2018Remove\u2019 button.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2020\/11\/TableProperties.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2020\/11\/TableProperties.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33981\" width=\"411\" height=\"655\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2020\/11\/TableProperties.png 411w, https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2020\/11\/TableProperties-188x300.png 188w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 411px) 100vw, 411px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The data table contains two columns by default: the name of the base geography feature (which includes the legend colour symbol and notes icon) and the indicator value. The notes icons can be removed if you delete the respective <span>metadata links in the data (the IA example Excel workbook has &#8216;notes.htm&#8217; as a default value in column C of the &#8216;Geography and Filters&#8217; worksheet). There is a setting in the \u2018Properties\u2019 section above the \u2018Data Columns\u2019 section that allows you to hide th<\/span>e legend colour circles in the table.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Extra columns are typically added in order to display any associate values that you have added to the data files for your report (please refer to section \u2018The InstantAtlas Excel Data Manager\u2019, sub-section \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/desktop-user-guide\/the-instantatlas-excel-data-manager\/the-datasheets\/#Entering_Associate_Values\">Entering Associate Values<\/a>\u2019 for more information on associates). If you have no associate values in the data files for your report, there is no point in adding new columns to the table as there will be nothing to display in these columns. If you do have associate values in your data files, you can add columns to your table to display them. The name value for a column should exactly match the name for the associate values in the data file(s) for the report (except for confidence intervals \u2013 see below).<\/p>\n<p>For example, the image below shows an Excel workbook with two sets of associate values for Indicator 1, the names of which are given in cells D5 and E5. If you add these columns to the data table in order to display these associate values, the name values in the Designer for the columns would have to be \u2018count\u2019 and \u2018rank\u2019 (i.e. exactly match the contents of cells D5 and E5). The alias value is displayed as the column heading in the report data table \u2013 you can enter any text you like for the alias.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/08\/figure771.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/08\/figure771.png\" alt=\"figure77\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8261\" width=\"475\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/08\/figure771.png 475w, https:\/\/help.instantatlas.com\/instantatlas-desktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/08\/figure771-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Confidence intervals are a special case. These are called \u2018ll\u2019 and \u2018ul\u2019 in the data files for dynamic reports. In the Designer, however, these columns must be given name values of &#8216;lowerLimit&#8217; and &#8216;upperLimit&#8217;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Other important table properties are:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Exportable?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span>If this box is ticked you will see an export button in the top right hand corner of the table when you hover with the mouse over it. Clicking this button will open a pop-up window in which you will be able to copy and paste the data in a comma delimited CSV format.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Zoom On Selection?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span>If this box is ticked the map will zoom to the feature which gets selected in the data table.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Show Legend Colour?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span>If you do not wish to see circles with the legend colour of each feature in the table you can untick this checkbox.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Data Columns If you view the properties for a table component, you will see a \u2018Data Columns\u2019 section at the bottom.
