The config.xml file of the Election Results template is very similar to the Area Profile \u2013 Spine Chart configuration of the Area Profile template. In fact it would be possible to create the one out of the other by simply deleting some components and changing a few properties.<\/p>\n
Election Results reports do not have a data button as it is not intended to change the map to show any other indicators except the Winning Party.<\/p>\n
The Map, Table and Spine Chart have been configured to only allow the selection of one single area whereas none of the entries in the Comparison Table can be selected.<\/p>\n
In the Spine Chart the horizontal bars show the values of the associate \u2018percentage of vote\u2019 using a range between 0 and 100.<\/p>\n
In the Election Results (HTML Edition), the horizontal bars are coloured according to the value of the \u2018party\u2019 associate. The property for this is called \u2018Use Data For Bar Colour\u2019 and its value has to match exactly the name of the party associate. The colours for the parties have to be defined using the Symbol properties of the Spine Chart.<\/p>\n
If you do not wish to colour the bars differently according to the party of the candidate, simply delete the value of the \u2018Use Data For Bar Colour\u2019 property. The property \u2018Bar Colour\u2019 will then set the colour for all bars.<\/span><\/p>\n In the \u2018Data Columns\u2019 section of the Spine Chart Properties the column labelled \u2018Percentage of Vote\u2019 (which is the column containing the horizontal bars) has \u2018election\u2019 in the \u2018Name\u2019 column. Compared to the column name \u2018profile\u2019 of the IA6 Area Profile \u2013 Spine Chart configuration the name \u2018election\u2019 omits the scale labels in the column header.<\/span><\/p>\n Additionally to the above differences between the IA6 Area Profile – Spine Chart configuration and the Election Results template there are some Spine Chart properties not included in the Election template as they do not apply considering the require data structure. Therefore it is not possible to create an Election results configuration out of the IA6 Area Profile \u2013 Spine Chart configuration.
