Widget Data

To control the data that appears in a widget e.g. in a graph or a table, double click on it to open the properties panel and choose the Data tab. This will show all the indicators that are available for displaying. Note that by default only a small number of IAS themes are visible under the Data tab. If you wish to add indicators from other themes, you must first make these themes available using the Organise Data option under the Report Properties tab.

A number of indicators may be pre-selected. It is usually best to click on ‘select none’ and then pick the indicators required. For each Indicator you have two options:

  1. Show the latest X dates – if you select this option, the report will always show the most recent X dates if these exist for the indicator. For example, if the indicator has dates of 2012, 2013 and 2014 in IAS and you choose to show the latest 2 dates, the report will display the data for 2013 and 2014. If at some point in the future you load data for 2015 for this indicator, the report will automatically adjust itself to show the data for 2014 and 2015. If wish to show all available dates for an indicator but are not sure how many there are in the IAS database, simply enter a very large value for X, such as 100.
  2. Show specific dates – if you click on this option, you will be given the option to tick specific dates for the indicator. The report will always show these dates, irrespective of whether you subsequently load new dates into IAS for this indicator.

By default a report widget will only show data for the area being profiled. In some instances though you may want to show data for all of the areas in the geography so you can see how the profiled area compares to the other areas. Check ‘Show All Areas?’ under the Settings tab to achieve this.
