geographies.csv

The geographies.csv file contains the codes and names of the shapefile(s) or MapInfo file(s) chosen during the publishing process.

The geographies file can be used to fix common problems encountered when exporting the data workbook. During the publishing process the exact codes and names of the shapefile or MapInfo file are placed in the geographies.csv file. Mismatches between the map file codes used and the codes in the workbook are a common source of problems such as data not showing in the map. The codes in the workbook have to be identical to the codes in the map file, even trailing spaces can cause problems.

If you are encountering problems with data not showing in your report, copy and paste the area codes from the geographies.csv file into the codes column(s) of you workbook.

image27 If you have multiple map layers in your report or one or more contextual layers, all the codes and names will be listed sequentially in the geographies.csv file. For example, in the screenshot below the above series of codes and names belongs to the base map layer and the second set (seen by the change in code type) belongs to the contextual layer.
