Double Map and Double Map (synced data selection) Layouts

The Double Map and Double Map (synced data selection) dashboard layouts allow you to display data for two different data layers for the same geographical area. Each of the data layers has its own set of widgets, such as maps, charts and tables, which can be used to make side-by-side comparisons of the two layers.

Click on the links below to find out more about each of the two layouts.

  2. Double Map (synced data selection)

Double Map Layout

The Double Map layout offers the ability to combine the contents of two individual standard dashboards of the same geographic area in one dashboard. Please click on the image below to view a demo report with the Double Map layout.

The dashboard in this example uses Edinburgh postcode sectors map (lower level) and Edinburgh postcode districts (higher level) map as the two data layers for the layout. You can see each data layers has its own set of widgets, such as map, bar chart and table. Each data layer is also associated with a separate CSV data file, the double map layout allows the themes and indicators to be set up differently in the Data Model for each layer as demonstrated here.

Double Map (synced data selection) Layout

Similar to the Double Map layout, the Double Map (synced data selection) offers the ability to display the contents of two individual data layers for the same geographic area in one dashboard but it is designed for displaying data for the two data layers with identical data model theme and indicator structure.

Double Map Data Selection Demo

The dashboard in this example uses Edinburgh postcode sectors map (lower level) and Edinburgh postcode districts (higher level) map as the two data layers for the layout. You can see each data layers has its own map and table but there is only one Data button and Data Explorer panel to control the data selection for both data layers (data selection synchronisation). Each data layer is associated with a separate CSV data file, but the themes and indicators set in the Data Model are identical.

Note: the data model structure for both data layers must be the same in order for this layout to function properly.
